Instagram Coaching: What It Is and Why You Might Just Love It
I’m not going to waste space here telling you how valuable social media is as a marketing tool. Because if you’ve found yourself on this blog, you already know how important it is. What you don’t know is how to take full advantage of everything it offers—without wanting to throw your phone across the room on a daily basis.
Hence, your interest in Instagram Coaching.
Do you want to feel good about your online presence and actually attract aligned clients? Or want to learn how to create consistent, on-brand content that feels authentic and informational? Or maybe you just need an accountability partner who will challenge the way you think about your business (and yourself) so you can see the breakthroughs you’ve been waiting for.
Whatever the reason is, you’re welcome here, friend. My name is Ariel, and I’m an Instagram coach for creative businesses and personal brands. I believe that social media can be fun and life-giving, and that you don’t need to put on a “professional” persona to make money.
If any of that sounds up your alley, you are in the right place! Today’s blog is all about Instagram coaching: what it is, how it works, and the results you can expect to see.
What is Instagram Coaching?
Instagram coaching is a 6-month process designed to build your confidence online, develop a personalized strategy that attracts your dream clients, and create a consistent and sustainable habit of posting.
You don’t have to be good at social media already. I mean, the whole point is teaching you how to use it to effectively market your business and connect with potential clients. You just have to have a desire to learn and actually implement the stuff we talk about.
Because Instagram doesn’t need to run your whole life. A lot of people think that Instagram coaching just means someone yelling at them to do more, post more, engage more, etc. And with other coaches, yeah, maybe that happens. But here? Helllllll no.
One-on-one coaching is about finding what works for you. Not what worked for this or that influencer, not what worked for your competitors, but what works for you based on your lifestyle, goals, and capabilities. My version of Instagram coaching considers you as a whole person—not just as a business owner. This holistic approach creates a freedom where you may have been feeling pressure and guilt.
The goal? To have fun with Instagram and build a like-minded audience that wants to buy your shit.
How It Works
Instagram Coaching is a six month package. That’s because social media marketing is a long game. You can’t just show up, post once, and think that your message will reach all the right people. Instead, you have to build a consistent routine with a strong foundational strategy that gets you in front of your ideal audience and gets them interested.
Over those six months of working together, we will have monthly video calls to discuss what’s working, what’s not, and what to fix, plus an individual discord chat so you can ask questions and get feedback between calls!
But what, exactly, will we chat about on those calls (besides the latest episodes of Ted Lasso, of course)? It will all fall into these categories:
Building the Foundation
Before we even schedule our first call, you get an in-depth questionnaire that covers everything I need to know about your business and you as a human. Once I receive that, I dive into your account audit. I’m looking at your bio, links, highlights, pinned posts, existing content, inquiry forms and sales funnels, comments, engagement, everything. By the time we actually get on that call, I’ll have a solid picture of how your account is doing and what we can do to improve it.
While together, we optimize your profile, talk through your goals and capacity, get real specific about your target audience, and map out your content pillars.
The first call is all about building a solid foundation for the rest of our time together, so we probably won’t be making any content. Instead, we’re creating a strategy that will guide us through the next few months.
Plan and Create Content
After that first call, the rest of our time on video chat is spent planning and creating content. We’ll map out your post ideas, hooks, storytelling angles, captions, and design direction. This is often the most intimidating part, so we do it together. This way I’m with you when the overwhelm hits, and we can develop skills and use tools that make creating content 10x easier.
Track and Analyze Insights
Most people are stressing about the wrong numbers, like their follower count. (If this is the first time you’re hearing this… yeah, your follower count doesn’t matter nearly as much as you think it does.)
My job as your Instagram coach is to help you understand your data so you can make informed decisions. We’re not looking at your views or likes. We’re looking for things like clicks, inquiries, and DMs. That’s how we know if your content is actually converting
Mindset Work
In my opinion, mindset work is the most important thing we do in coaching. Because you aren’t shying away from Instagram because you don’t have ideas—trust me, you have plenty. You’re avoiding it because you’re overthinking it, trying to be perfect, and dealing with imposter syndrome.
How do I know? I’ve been there. Oftentimes, I’m still there. But this is exactly what coaching is for. We talk through the mental blocks, figure out what is helping versus hurting you, and build a sustainable rhythm that takes your whole person into account.
If posting every day makes you want to join a convent in the Himalayas, I’m not going to make you post everyday! If certain forms of content make you want to scream, we’ll find other ways to reach your people. There are no rules when it comes to Instagram. There’s only what works for you and what doesn’t.
Momentum & Accountability
When we work through these mental blocks and build a solid, sustainable plan, you leave every call with clear, actionable steps for the month ahead. No scrambling for ideas. No feeling guilty about not posting. Just simple, straightforward directions on what to do and how to do it.
And the best part? You don’t have to do it alone.
You have direct access to me via Discord the entire time. So if you have questions, send ‘em my way. Want feedback on a piece of content before you post it? Drop it in the chat! I am here to support you and help you whenever you feel stuck.
The Results
I’ve been coaching small business owners and personal brands on Instagram for 4 years now, and the results speak for themselves.
Clients who came in worried about getting any inquiries at all are now booked out with waitlists
Reach, website clicks, and inquiries go up
Clients are booking directly through Instagram
But beyond the numbers, I’ve seen doors open for my coaching clients that would never have been available beforehand. They’re leading events, getting speaking engagements, opportunities to guest on podcasts, and incredible chances to network as an expert in their industry. Because showing up consistently and confidently builds credibility—and credibility opens doors that have nothing to do with your follower count.
And lastly, the biggest shift I see has nothing to do with the content itself. It’s about the relief, confidence, and peace of mind that comes when they finally have a system that works for them.
Is Instagram Coaching Your Next Step?
When you’re no longer paralyzed by fear, you can actually enjoy creating content and connecting with your audience. You can get excited about posting and have fun with it again! Honestly, that’s my favorite part of Instagram coaching. Giving you permission to have fun with your content and show up authentically.
I know it feels really hard. It feels like you don’t have time, or your ideas aren’t good enough. But can I be honest with you? You will always find reasons not to do something. But I want to challenge you (with love) to take a good long look at your business. How long have you been stuck like this, overthinking your content? And what is it actually costing you?
Because it’s not just about time or money. It’s about the mental and emotional drain of constantly feeling like you “should” be doing something, but never being able to make it happen. That heaviness is its own type of cost.
Here’s the truth, friend. You can keep feeling stuck and trying to muscle your way through with generic advice… or you can get some support where you need it and learn how to make Instagram work for you. I want to help you succeed, but I can only do that if you’re willing to take that first step.
